dave & kathee

Welcome! I’m Kathee, a military wife and mother of two. I love to travel, shop, and cook. I am also passionate about fitness and living a healthy lifestyle all while having fun.

I met my husband, Dave, in San Diego, where we are both from, the summer I graduated from high school and he graduated college. Three months later he moved to Las Vegas to start his active duty career with the Air Force. We dated long distance for another three months until January 2007 when I moved out to Las Vegas to live with him. Seven months later on July 21, 2007, we went to the courthouse and got hitched! It wasn’t long after that we moved to Mississippi where he went through Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) and became an Air Force pilot. Since then we have lived in Phoenix, Arizona where he became a qualified F-16 pilot; Spangdahlem, Germany; Fort Worth, Texas, and now Osan, South Korea. It’s a good thing we like traveling, right?

I am a mom to two adorable kiddos, Emily (4) and Travis (9 months). Emily was born while we were stationed overseas in Germany, and Travis was born in Fort Worth just six weeks before we moved to the Republic of Korea, or as we like to call it, the RoK.

Travis & Emily, aren’t they adorable?

I am self-proclaimed foodie. Not only do I LOVE to cook, I love to eat and take excessive photos of my food. My favorite foods are pizza, burritos, and my new fave since living in the RoK, yakimandeu. Don’t get me wrong, I also love to eat plenty of healthy foods, but who doesn’t love french fries? However, and you might hate me for saying this because you have heard it thousands of times, its all about moderation.

It also helps that I enjoy working out and how all of those extra endorphins make me feel. While we lived in Texas, I really found my calling, my passion. I joined a wonderful group called Stroller Strides through FIT4MOM and was lucky enough to become a pre and postnatal fitness instructor. Being able to help other moms and moms-to-be was life changing. It was the first time in my life as a military spouse that I truly felt like I was making a difference in other peoples lives.

Since moving to the RoK, I have ceased teaching Stroller Strides. I miss it like something fierce, let me tell you. It was such a huge part of who I was and I needed something to help fill the void. In April 2016, a friend invited me to join a Beachbody challenge group and I was hooked. Since then I have continued to participate in challenge groups, not only as a participant, but also as coach.
